¿What do we think about learning English in kindergarten? Learning languages is not easy, and there are people who think that is more difficult learning sencond languages in kindergartem. Like everything, it has advantages and disadvantages. Here it is what we  think about this:

Advantages
  •          In kindergarten is easier learning languages due to the brain plasticity.
  •        Learning a new language makes better to our laboral future. It makes people to comunícate better each other.
  •         Learning languages active right hemisphere, increasing the creative.
Disadvantages
  •   Kids can confuse both languages, the second and the native one, getting worse the pronunciation when they haven’t developed the native language.
  •     English uses a different reading method. In Spain, we use a global method while the method used in English is the phonological one. 

    
    In relation to the experiences we know about, we can say that some of our practicum teachers used books to make kid learn english, and that’s not a good method because it gets boring. But, there was a teacher that teach kids with songs, tales, videos, movies, etc, and that’s more interesting and less traditional.




We think that people who must teach this are teachers specialiced in this language  or, at least, competitive teachers with a basic level of the language. This is the best method to get kids learning languages in theirs rutines, day to day. 



In class, we told about knowledge and capacities that teachers should have. We think teachers should have got a good level of the language also beeing creative maaking children to get fun and enjoy. It is in need to get a participative and dinamic weather to get them movitate to learn and speak english. Teachers must potentiate the curiosity and the interest. In the case of children, we don’t think it would be necesary developing some special capacity to learn a new language. It’s more importante making them interested in the language.



On the other hand, there are some difficulties we know about:
  •         Foreign children that don’t know the native language from the country they’re living now.
  •      Children with educational difficulties.
  •          Lack of time and means.
  •          Closed – mind ideology.
  •      Lack of good behavior and motivation.
  •      Lack of help from the families and the context.



Therefore, as future teachers we thought about suitable activities to teach english like: using diferent kind of music, songs, interactive videos, storytales, theatre, dances,  cooperative games and fine and gross psychomotricity activities.
